Test management on the Atlassian platform (Use of Jira and Xray)

The Atlassian ecosystem, the Jira and Confluence tools have today demonstrated their many functionalities, one allowing in particular the creation of objects (requirements, bugs, tasks, etc.) and the second allowing the writing and structuring of documents in the form of Web page.

Although simple to deploy, the correct use of Xray requires specific configuration. In this training, we will present the operating principle of the Atlassian suite, its Marketplace, we will see how to set up a simple Jira project in order to carry out tests.

In a second step we will discuss the configuration of Xray as part of a Jira project. This training will be articulated between theory and practical exercises, allowing you in particular to recognize and use the types of Test Xray (Test, Test Plan, Test execution, Precondition, Test Set).

In a more general context, we will see some metrics to put in place for test monitoring as well as the configuration to put in place to obtain not only end-to-end traceability (Requirements → Tests → Test results → Defects) but also the configuration and use of Template in order to export documents (Specifications, Traceability Matrix, Test Plan, Test Results, etc.)   in the usual formats (word, excel, pdf).

At the end of this training, we will present the use case of Xray in the context of the design of a fan (complex data model).
